{"id":156541,"date":"2026-02-15T19:17:09","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T19:17:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/156541\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T19:17:09","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T19:17:09","slug":"4-suspects-in-tampa-street-takeover-arrested-after-driver-goes-over-100-mph-during-pursuit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/156541\/","title":{"rendered":"4 suspects in Tampa street takeover arrested after driver goes over 100 mph during pursuit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Four St. Pete residents are facing charges after being caught partaking in a street takeover in Tampa while going over 100 mph, officials say.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Florida Highway Patrol said a trooper conducted a vehicle pursuit just after midnight Saturday after a vehicle was clocked going 100 mph in 45 mph zones in the area of State Road 580 and Lois Avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The driver, identified as 21-year-old Nathan Welch, was taking &#8220;evasive actions&#8221; by driving at a high rate of speed and running multiple red lights, according to an arrest affidavit.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">FHP said Welch and his three passengers inside the vehicle were part of a street takeover. They were identified as 18-year-old Madison Nicholson, 18-year-old Summer Simpson and 19-year-old Quamari Thomas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">During the pursuit, Welch reportedly refused to let one of the passengers leave his vehicle after asking multiple times to let them out.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">All four suspects were charged with unlawful racing on a highway.
