{"id":156566,"date":"2026-02-15T19:59:06","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T19:59:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/156566\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T19:59:06","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T19:59:06","slug":"over-133-5m-worth-of-cocaine-offloaded-in-port-everglades-after-4-vessels-interdicted-nbc-6-south-florida","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/156566\/","title":{"rendered":"Over $133.5M worth of cocaine offloaded in Port Everglades after 4 vessels interdicted \u2013 NBC 6 South Florida"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The U.S. Coast Guard on Friday announced that it offloaded over $135.5 million worth of cocaine in Port Everglades.<\/p>\n<p>According to the USCG, the roughly 17,750 pounds of cocaine that were seized were due to four interdictions that happened in international waters of the Eastern Pacific Ocean.<\/p>\n<p>The operation started on Jan. 25, when a go-fast vessel was detected, and crews interdicted the vessel, boarded it and seized 4,410 pounds of cocaine.<\/p>\n<p>Six days later, on Jan. 31, three go-fast vessels were detected, and after interdicting and boarding them, 13,340 pounds of cocaine were seized.<\/p>\n<p>The USCG released the following statement:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am extremely proud of the crew\u2019s incredible performance and adaptability during this deployment,\u201d said Capt. Lee Jones, commanding officer, Coast Guard Cutter Seneca. \u201cThis deployment\u00a0demonstrates\u00a0our enhanced posture and continued success in the fight against narco-terrorism and transnational criminal organizations.
