The Jacksonville Humane Society is partnering up with Petco Love for a free pet vaccination and microchipping event <\/a>on Sunday, Feb. 22, providing access to preventative animal care for anyone in Northeast Florida.<\/p>\n Up to three pets per person will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the shelter’s Pet Help Services entrance.<\/p>\n Each dog or cat will receive their most common core vaccines, which include FVRCP<\/a> for cats and DAPP for dogs. The rabies vaccination will also be administered to all animals unless the owner has documentation showing their pet is up to date. Duval County residents: you may have to pay a $20 pet licensing fee required by the City of Jacksonville.<\/p>\n “Petco Love has already vaccinated close to 4 million pets since launching their Vaccinated & Loved campaign, and the 4 millionth pet vaccinated will happen right here in Jacksonville,” the shelter\u00a0said on social media.<\/a> “Will your pet be the lucky one?”<\/p>\n All animals served will leave with a microchip if they don’t already have one, which could help prevent a lost pet cat-astrophe in the future. Once inserted, owners can register their contact information to the chip.<\/p>\n All pets at the clinic must be at least 12 weeks of age or older.
