Florida Legislative session at halfway point\u00a0 Two bills garnering a lot of interest addressing artificial intelligence are House Bill 1007<\/a> and Senate Bill 484<\/a>.<\/p>\n The artificial intelligence bill is seeking regulation of new data centers across the state used for AI. The centers are a huge draw of electricity and water.<\/p>\n The bill would disallow incentives and make providers pay full price for electricity. Those data centers would also be subject to strict water restrictions.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, House Joint Resolution 209<\/a> is taking aim at property tax reductions<\/a> with a full House vote expected in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n The resolution would provide an increase of homestead exemption to $200,000 for homeowners that carry comprehensive multi-peril insurance coverage.<\/p>\n Other bills also moving through committees include mandatory mediation for disputes between homeowners and insurance companies and a bill that would prohibit insurers from dropping homeowners based solely on roof condition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Lawmakers are in the second half of the legislative session in Tallahassee.
