{"id":157166,"date":"2026-02-16T14:41:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-16T14:41:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/157166\/"},"modified":"2026-02-16T14:41:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-16T14:41:07","slug":"fda-expands-recall-of-frozen-potato-products-in-orange-county-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/157166\/","title":{"rendered":"FDA expands recall of frozen potato products in Orange County schools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. \u2014 Federal health officials are expanding the recall of frozen potato products that were used in school lunches in Orange County. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the expansion because the products may contain plastic fragments.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">The expanded recall includes nearly 22,000 cases of Ore-Ida Tater Tots and 67 cases of Sonic Tots. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">The action follows reports that the food items may contain foreign material.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Orange County Public Schools notified parents last month that the district was removing tater tots from school menus. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">School officials cited safety concerns as the reason for the decision.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wftv.com\/mobile-apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wftv.com\/mobile-apps\">Click here<\/a> to download our free news, weather and smart TV apps.
