{"id":157431,"date":"2026-02-16T18:22:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-16T18:22:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/157431\/"},"modified":"2026-02-16T18:22:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-16T18:22:07","slug":"crews-work-to-repair-gas-leaks-in-miami-fort-lauderdale-wsvn-7news-miami-news-weather-sports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/157431\/","title":{"rendered":"Crews work to repair gas leaks in Miami, Fort Lauderdale &#8211; WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MIAMI (WSVN) &#8211; A couple of gas leaks had crews busy in different parts of South Florida on Presidents\u2019 Day.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said gas lines ruptured in Miami near West Flagler Street, between Northwest First and Second avenues, Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Those streets <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MiamiPD\/status\/2023412440520970491?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">were shut down<\/a> as a hazmat team moved in to stop the leak.<\/p>\n<p>Police advise drivers to avoid the area until further notice.<\/p>\n<p>North of the county line, another bad break took place in Fort Lauderdale, when a car crashed into Anthony\u2019s Runway 84 along State Road 84, at around 8 a.m. on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>According to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, the driver involved told a 911 dispatcher that he smelled gas. As it turns out, his vehicle broke the gas line.<\/p>\n<p>FLFR and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue\u2019s hazmat team were on the scene and capped the leak in about 40 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2025 Sunbeam Television Corp.
