After a portion of the outside area of Buzz Lightyear\u2019s Space Ranger Spin was filled with concrete<\/a>, a layer of dirt has been added above it. The Magic Kingdom ride is undergoing a major overhaul and has been closed since last summer.<\/p>\n

Over the past week, concrete had been poured into the\u00a0wooden forms<\/a>. Once the concrete had solidified, the forms were removed, leaving an oblong block of concrete with electrical conduit sticking out of it, and a thin trench in the center.<\/p>\n

We don\u2019t know exactly what will go on this base, but it\u2019s clearly for some kind of new entrance structure, as all of the old infrastructure has been\u00a0demolished<\/a>. The layer of dirt has been added everywhere but on the shape, suggesting this might be where a new marquee will be located.<\/p>\n

Most of the pavement in front of Buzz Lightyear\u2019s Space Ranger Spin has been removed. The wooden beams may indicate how the pavement will be split up.<\/p>\n

Buzz Lightyear\u2019s Space Ranger Spin is\u00a0scheduled to reopen this spring<\/a>\u00a0with new ride vehicles, handheld blasters, and interactive targets.<\/p>\n
