A deadly wrong-way collision on U.S. 27 in Broward County left a Range Rover engulfed in flames at mile marker 37; investigators confirmed both drivers died at the scene.<\/p>\n

Two drivers were killed early Wednesday morning in a wrong-way crash on U.S. 27 in Broward County that left one car in flames and its driver trapped inside.<\/p>\n
The crash happened around 12:25 a.m. at Mile Marker 37, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n
Investigators said a white Land Rover Discovery, driven by an unidentified man, collided head-on with a white 2013 Nissan Altima driven by a 24-year-old woman from Palmetto.<\/p>\n
The Nissan\u2019s driver was going south in the northbound lanes, while the Land Rover was heading north. They were not able to avoid each other, FHP said.<\/p>\n
The Land Rover caught fire, trapping the driver inside. Both drivers died at the scene, FHP said.<\/p>\n
The northbound lanes were temporarily closed but reopened around 7 a.m.<\/p>\n
