TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Three more people have been arrested in connection to a million dollar fraud scheme, according to court records.<\/p>\n
Briana McCarthy <\/a>is facing a litany of charges after allegedly defrauding state agencies out of $1.7 million by approving fraudulent property damage claims while she was working as a Risk Management Program Specialist for the Florida Department of Financial Services.<\/p>\n Now, three more people are facing fraud charges, bringing the total to nine.<\/p>\n Shelton Allen, Latasha Belford and Nijah Johnson were all arrested last Thursday, according to court records. <\/p>\n More on crime in our area: <\/p>\n All three are charged with grand theft and cashing a bank item with intent to defraud. <\/p>\n Court records indicate the three were subjects of fraudulent claims McCarthy approved. <\/p>\n Allen and Belford each cashed checks for over $8,000 and Johnson cashed one for nearly $7,000, according to court records. <\/p>\n Allen, Belford and Johnson are the latest arrested in this fraud scheme. <\/p>\n Last week, five people<\/a>, including two former state employees, were arrested.
