STUART, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 Newly released 911 audio is giving more insight into the chaotic moments immediately after a woman was violently attacked and held underwater at Stuart Beach<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to the Martin County Sheriff\u2019s Office, deputies responded around 11 p.m. on Feb. 12<\/a>, after the victim \u2014 who had gone to the beach alone \u201cto clear her head\u201d \u2014 was attacked while walking north along the shoreline and talking on the phone with her sister. Minutes after passing a man on the beach, she was \u201cbrutally attacked,\u201d grabbed by the throat, dragged into the ocean, and held underwater until she lost consciousness. Deputies say her phone was knocked from her hand and thrown into the ocean, disconnecting the call for help. <\/p>\n

The 911 call<\/p>\n

The newly released 911 recording <\/a>captures the victim\u2019s relative urgently reporting that her sister had been talking to the woman when she suddenly began \u201cscreaming and screaming\u201d before the call went dead. The caller said the sister tried repeatedly to reach her with no answer. He told dispatchers the incident happened just minutes earlier and that he was speeding toward the beach, adding that he was armed. <\/p>\n

“Her sister was talking to her on the phone and her sister just called me, told me she was talking and all of a sudden she started screaming and screaming and it sounded her sister said it sounded like she was fighting with someone and then the phone went dead,” according to the concerned caller. <\/p>\n

On February 17, 2026, a newly released 911 call reveals a frantic relative reporting that a woman walking along Stuart Beach suddenly began screaming before her call disconnected, prompting fears she was being attacked after her sister heard what sounded like a violent struggle. During the call, he provided details about the victim\u2019s vehicle \u2014 a white Ram 1500 Limited \u2014 and described her physical appearance as dispatchers worked to coordinate units already en route. The caller remained on the line while updating his location, telling dispatch he was passing the courthouse and heading toward Ocean Boulevard. He also asked dispatchers to try calling the woman\u2019s phone since he was still on the line.<\/p>\n

Victim’s condition after the attack<\/p>\n

According to the sheriff\u2019s office, the victim eventually regained consciousness \u201chalf in and half out of the water,\u201d crawled out of the surf, crossed the dunes, and made her way south toward the Stuart Beach entrance, where she encountered deputies. <\/p>\n

Suspect identified<\/p>\n

Deputies have charged 26-year-old Said Alexander Hernandez-Gonzalez, an undocumented immigrant from Venezuela<\/a>, with attempted first-degree premeditated murder.
