{"id":159191,"date":"2026-02-18T01:37:06","date_gmt":"2026-02-18T01:37:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/159191\/"},"modified":"2026-02-18T01:37:06","modified_gmt":"2026-02-18T01:37:06","slug":"four-jacksonville-firefighters-reassigned-and-demoted-after-criminal-mischief-paintball-arrests-action-news-jax","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/159191\/","title":{"rendered":"Four Jacksonville firefighters reassigned and demoted after criminal mischief paintball arrests \u2013 Action News Jax"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 Action News Jax Ben Becker has learned that four Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department firefighters <a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsjax.com\/news\/local\/four-jacksonville-firefighters-arrested-after-paintball-prank-war-police-say\/ZPNBNYHAKNDL7KLDLHDXIJN4FI\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsjax.com\/news\/local\/four-jacksonville-firefighters-arrested-after-paintball-prank-war-police-say\/ZPNBNYHAKNDL7KLDLHDXIJN4FI\/\">arrested <\/a>on misdemeanor criminal mischief charges have now been reassigned and demoted following a criminal investigation into paintball guns being fired in Downtown Jacksonville.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">The transfers come with a pay reduction and remove the firefighters from the Special Operations Team at Fire Station 4 for a minimum of one year. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsjax.com\/news\/local\/another-jfrd-firefighter-placed-leave-amid-jso-paintball-prank-investigation\/W2A46HFMUFBNVLMRODJH6JOZFI\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsjax.com\/news\/local\/another-jfrd-firefighter-placed-leave-amid-jso-paintball-prank-investigation\/W2A46HFMUFBNVLMRODJH6JOZFI\/\">fifth firefighter<\/a>, who was not arrested, has been suspended without pay for 72 hours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">Becker first reported in January, the arrests by the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>The Firefighters ArrestedEngineer Landon T. Simmons, 30Engineer Wesley P. Parker, 32Engineer Tristen C. Harrison, 25Firefighter Colby B. Lesage, 23<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">All four face misdemeanor criminal mischief charges in connection to a December incident involving shooting paintball guns at property, civilians, and a JSO cruiser.
