New Orleans isn’t the only city with a fun Fat Tuesday celebration. Tallahassee’s Midtown area had its very own Mardi Gras parade on last night before Ash Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The Dixieland band was wailing as dozens of folks in all kinds of bizarre costumes – including lots and lots of beads – began a joyful procession from the back courtyard of the Blue Tavern. Carrie Hamby is the bar’s owner.<\/p>\n
“We’ve been doing this every year since we reopened. It’s gotten bigger and bigger and pretty soon we’ll just have to block off the street and make it a real parade.”<\/p>\n
