Here are some that shuttered over the past two months in Broward and Palm Beach counties.<\/p>\n<p>Mistah Lee\u2019s Smokin\u2019 Good BBQ, 8240 State Road 7, Suite 250, Boynton Beach: Pitmaster Lee Stransky\u2019s \u2019cue shack, known for beef brisket, house-brined pastrami, cornbread slathered in \u201csticky\u201d sauce and a big accolade \u2014 its food truck won top honors in the Sun Sentinel\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sun-sentinel.com\/2024\/03\/22\/wheres-the-best-bbq-in-south-florida-weve-tallied-your-votes-and-the-winner-is\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Best of South Florida Dining series<\/a> \u2014 announced on social media that his first brick-and-mortar had closed. CLOSED: Jan. 8, per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/lee.stransky\/posts\/pfbid0uM6q2zhwbYHu9faUCYLrAzMeNQxKVcs6z6hhR52uAzCreyMCAYGtGaBJKgeK1Hexl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Facebook page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Angelo Elia Pizza, Bar, Tapas, 5920 Coral Ridge Drive, Coral Springs. After 11-plus years in the Sawgrass Center shopping plaza near Heron Bay, restaurateur Angelo Elia\u2019s namesake casual space known for paninis, pies and grilled artichoke hearts, has closed, joining a Weston location that also shut in 2025. CLOSED: Dec. 18, per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.angeloeliapizza.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">website<\/a> and restaurateur Eddie Pozzuoli, who said he plans to replace it with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sun-sentinel.com\/2026\/01\/03\/ember-vine-napa-valley-themed-eatery-with-open-hearth-cooking-uncorking-in-coral-springs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Ember &amp; Vine<\/a> this summer.<\/p>\n<p>The Hen and The Hog Smokehouse Cantina, 14 N. Federal Highway, Pompano Beach: This 3,000-square-foot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sun-sentinel.com\/2025\/09\/03\/the-hen-and-the-hog-has-a-spinoff-mexican-bbq-hybrid-smokehouse-cantina-to-open-in-pompano-beach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Mexican-barbecue cantina<\/a> came from the people behind The Hen and The Hog all-day Southern bruncheries. Here, brisket nachos, shrimp and grits, smoked brisket melts and pulled pork sandwiches starred alongside tacos, fajitas and chicken burritos. (Mike Stocker\/South Florida Sun Sentinel file)<\/p>\n<p>La Torretta Italian Grill, 308 Indian Trace, Weston: Fabrizio and Vita Russo\u2019s longtime eatery served veal francese, baked ziti, pasta e fagioli and chicken parmesan, presiding over weddings and funerals, graduations and bar mitzvahs for 34 years in a sumptuously red-bricked dining space older than the city of Weston itself. CLOSED: Jan. 11 to avoid \u201cdramatic\u201d rent increase from landlord, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sun-sentinel.com\/2025\/12\/31\/la-torretta-weston-icon-turning-out-italian-american-classics-to-permanently-close-after-34-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">per manager Martha Vasalo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Vivace Italian Restaurant &amp; Cocktail Bar, 9763 W. Broward Blvd., Plantation: This upscale sit-down owned by Vito and Santina DiSalvo, known for NY-style pizza, Italian American classics, global wines and craft beers, has permanently closed after 10 years, after declaring Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September. CLOSED: Dec. 20, owners confirmed via their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vivacepizza.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">website<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share\/p\/17shNBSvhW\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Drip Coffee, 6317 N. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale: This cafe lasted all of three months in the Cypress Creek Station plaza, serving specialty espressos (like Burnt Ritual, a matcha latte with toasted marshmallow cold foam), avocado toast and sourdough sandwiches. (Mike Stocker\/South Florida Sun Sentinel)<\/p>\n<p>Chez Vincent, 3312 NE 32nd St., Fort Lauderdale: Vincent Maurin \u2014 with his wife, Claire, and daughter\/business partner Nastasia \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sun-sentinel.com\/2021\/08\/12\/chez-vincent-brings-wine-expertise-and-light-cafe-fare-to-galt-ocean-mile\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">opened this wine bar and French caf\u00e9<\/a> in Fort Lauderdale\u2019s Galt Ocean Mile luxe neighborhood in the summer of 2021. In addition to vino, Chez Vincent offered charcuterie platters, hot and cold sandwiches, and breakfast service with baguettes, croissants, and ham and cheese plates. CLOSED: This winter; sale of the space closed on Feb. 2, according to a real estate executive.<\/p>\n<p>Milk Money Bar &amp; Kitchen, 815 NE 13th St., Fort Lauderdale: This anchor of the shopping\/dining\/entertainment enclave of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sun-sentinel.com\/2019\/08\/19\/fort-lauderdales-best-kept-secret-13th-street\/?share=enanptesreentie9w1ed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Northeast 13th Street<\/a> became a buzzy eatery (and a brunch fave) when Kimberly Wong, Blaise McMackin and Scott Ojeda opened back in 2018 in a space shared with Warsaw Coffee Co. \u201cWe continue to miss our staff, our neighbors, our friends and our customers very much,\u201d Wong told the South Florida Sun Sentinel. CLOSED: Dec. 22, according to Wong.<\/p>\n<p>Mykonos, 305 S. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale: This sleekly modern Mediterranean sit-down from the Breakwater Hospitality Group (The Wharf Fort Lauderdale) that served Turkish beef dumplings and hummus, Chilean sea bass and chicken shish kebab has closed after less than a year in business.\u00a0Online reservations <a href=\"https:\/\/mykonosfl.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">on the website<\/a> redirect to a new Greek restaurant named <a style=\"color: #000000\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DUgKMJNkQXp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Santorini by Georgios<\/a>. CLOSED: Late January, according to Levy Public Relations, which formerly represented the restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>The Den Sports Bar &amp; Lounge, 201 SW Second St., Fort Lauderdale: Originally dubbed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sun-sentinel.com\/2020\/12\/02\/den-kitchen-and-bar-new-fort-lauderdale-gastropub-coming-to-downtown-himmarshee-village\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Den Kitchen &amp; Bar<\/a> when owner Yaser Dashoush opened it in early 2021, this gastropub and party nightclub in the heart of Himmarshee\u2019s drinking district has closed after five years in business. It served fare such as wings, grilled pork chops and burgers.
