Florida foodies are licking their chops, waiting for tomorrow\u2019s kick-off of the South Beach Wine and Food Festival.<\/a> Film fans can relate. They\u2019re hungry for the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival to start this weekend. Deco\u2019s got the deets: Lights, camera, action!<\/p>\n

It\u2019s time to celebrate good times and good movies. The Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival is back.<\/p>\n

Steve Savor: \u201cOver the last 40 years, we\u2019ve hosted hundreds and hundreds of filmmakers and A-list celebrities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Getting your movie into the festival is no easy task.<\/p>\n

Steve Savor: \u201cWe have a panel of people who review all the films and discuss it widely and it\u2019s just a matter of debate and trying to curate what best fits our audience.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of the films the panel thinks you\u2019ll dig: \u201cThe Trouble With People\u201d, an offbeat family comedy, starring Paul Reiser.<\/p>\n

Paul Reiser (as Barry): \u201cHello, not interested!\u201d<\/p>\n

Colm Meaney (as Ci\u00e1ran): \u201cHello, I am your cousin Ci\u00e1ran.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jane Levy (as Natalya): \u201cAnd he wants you to just go to Ireland. What\u2019s the worst that could happen?\u201d<\/p>\n

The worst that could happen is what the story\u2019s all about.<\/p>\n

Paul Reiser: \u201cThey\u2019ve never met, and the Irish guy, Colm Meaney, who\u2019s a wonderful, brilliant actor, calls me up in America, never heard of the guy, and he says, \u2018Some day let\u2019s bury the hatchet and come out to Ireland, and we\u2019ll raise a pint.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alexandro Byrd is the title character in \u201cThe Legend of Juan Jose Mundo\u201d.<\/p>\n

Alexandro Byrd: \u201cTakes place in 1984 in White Plains, New York. It\u2019s a beautiful coming-of-age story about this girl, Julie.\u201d<\/p>\n

Juan has an unexpected effect on Julie, who\u2019s part of her high school\u2019s student exchange program.<\/p>\n

Alexandro Byrd: \u201cThere\u2019s a bit of a mix-up. Instead of getting a girl, she gets the legend himself, Juan Jose Mundo.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bringing the film to FLIFF is like a homecoming for Alexandro.<\/p>\n

Alexandro Byrd: \u201cA lot of my Venezuelan family is in Weston, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami.\u201d<\/p>\n

From the hysterically twisted mind of Harland Williams comes the R-rated comedy: \u201cWingman\u201d. He plays the man in question.<\/p>\n

Harland Williams: \u201cYou can hire him, and he will help you score using his unorthodox methods of connecting with the opposite sex.\u201d<\/p>\n

He has a very unique relationship with his customers.<\/p>\n

Harland Williams (as Turk): \u201cKnow what I just said?\u201d<\/p>\n

Evan Marsh (as Bob): \u201cWhat?\u201d<\/p>\n

Harland Williams (as Turk): \u201cF*** off in seven languages. There\u2019s eight.\u201d<\/p>\n
