ST. PETERSBURG, FL \u2014 Two people were charged with attempted murder in the first degree in the Feb. 11 shooting of an 18-year-old man, the St. Petersburg Police Department said in a news release. <\/p>\n
Charles Hinton, 18, and Christopher Tonsel, 22, were also charged with robbery with a deadly weapon in the teen\u2019s shooting. <\/p>\n
The victim and another man met Hinton and Tonsel in the parking lot of the Citrus Grove Apartments in the 700 block of 15th Street South just before 5 p.m., police said. <\/p>\n
The victim was sitting in the car\u2019s front passenger seat. <\/p>\n
Not long after Hinton and Tonsel climbed into the car\u2019s backseat, Hinton pulled out a gun and fired, hitting the victim in the back of the neck, police said. <\/p>\n
The two jumped out of the car and ran from the scene.<\/p>\n
The driver drove one block away before seeking help at a convenience store in the 900 block of 16th Street South, police said.<\/p>\n
The victim was brought to a local hospital, where he\u2019s in stable condition. <\/p>\n
