With spring\u00a0break coming up<\/a>, many people are hurriedly making plans.\u00a0While so\u00a0many students chose to go home for the week, others may be stuck in Tallahassee. If this is you, you might need a place to get some work done, especially with\u00a0modified hours for many on-campus spots\u00a0and\u00a0most of\u00a0the buildings being closed.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n While\u00a0concentrating on a to-do list at a coffee shop or\u00a0a lunch spot might be doable, sometimes people may prefer\u00a0the\u00a0FSU campus\u00a0atmosphere\u00a0to get work done.\u00a0Here\u2019s a self-compiled list of\u00a0spots that are open 24\/7,\u00a0365 days\u00a0a\u00a0year.<\/p>\n Carothers Hall Seating<\/p>\n One place\u00a0that omits the university atmosphere while\u00a0always\u00a0staying\u00a0open is the seating\u00a0on the right of Carothers Hall. Located under blowing trees and next to a pathway to the\u00a0James Jay\u00a0Love\u00a0Building, this spot\u00a0offers\u00a0a place to\u00a0be alone on a quiet campus\u00a0while\u00a0also\u00a0enjoying\u00a0the occasional view of a passerby.<\/p>\n Argo Tea Seating<\/p>\n The next place\u00a0to lock in takes us to the other side of campus,\u00a0next to Landis Green. If you\u00a0enjoy more foot traffic on the less-crowded-than-usual campus, this might\u00a0be for\u00a0you.\u00a0The seating for Argo Tea\u00a0outside the Shore\u2019s building provides a less nature-surrounded\u00a0area\u00a0to\u00a0avoid\u00a0distraction,\u00a0but\u00a0offers passers-by an opportunity to enjoy Landis Green\u2019s well-known\u00a0greenery.<\/p>\n Mina Jo Powell Green<\/p>\n If you prefer even more nature, to be surrounded by it,\u00a0Mino Jo Powell Green might be for you.\u00a0Surrounded by trees, the area encases you\u00a0in the clearing of a forest,\u00a0providing\u00a0benches to\u00a0sit\u00a0and lots of room to\u00a0put\u00a0down a\u00a0blanket to lie\u00a0on.<\/p>\n Near Westcott<\/p>\n Some prefer a\u00a0fuller\u00a0nature setting, though, which may lead them\u00a0a few steps away,\u00a0right next to Westcott Fountain and the\u00a0Kellogg Research Building. This area\u00a0features\u00a0benches and walkways,\u00a0enclosed\u00a0completely by trees and bushes.<\/p>\n Near FSU Labyrinth<\/p>\n Another\u00a0place to work is\u00a0by the FSU Labyrinth,\u00a0between the FSU College of Medicine and the Psychology Department Building. If\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0looking for a change in scenery, this area is on the\u00a0opposite\u00a0side of\u00a0campus and\u00a0offers a variety of\u00a0areas with benches.<\/p>\n King Life Sciences Building<\/p>\n Just a short walk away is the King Life Sciences Building, which, though it may be locked, provides spots\u00a0outside\u00a0to prop\u00a0you up with your laptop.\u00a0This area is\u00a0covered and\u00a0gives a pavilion feel that\u00a0could convince someone they\u2019re indoors.<\/p>\n Stone Building<\/p>\n Still on the left side of campus, the Stone Building hides\u00a0a more secluded\u00a0spot\u00a0towards the back. If\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0looking for a study spot where you\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0want to be bothered at all, this might be the one for you.<\/p>\n Near the Health and Wellness Center<\/p>\n If you do wish to see more people, the area just outside the FSU Health and Wellness Center has benches, tables,\u00a0and running water.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0right next to South Woodward Avenue and serves as part of the walkway to the Student Union,\u00a0providing a place for\u00a0people to walk by.<\/p>\n Even if\u00a0the\u00a0campus\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0closed, these places serve as\u00a0a collection of outside study spots, many of which\u00a0experience\u00a0less foot traffic than others. With class in session,\u00a0places such as\u00a0the FSU Labyrinth still experience less attention than those by Landis\u00a0Green.<\/p>\n Next time\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0stuck in Tallahassee and need to get some work done,\u00a0and other places just\u00a0aren\u2019t\u00a0cutting it for you,\u00a0keep this list\u00a0in mind!\u00a0<\/p>\n Want to see more HCFSU?
