WASHINGTON \u2014 Jacksonville rapper Lil Poppa, born Janarious Mykel Wheeler, has died at age 25.<\/p>\n
Georgia’s Fulton County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office confirmed to WXIA <\/a>that Wheeler is deceased. TMZ reported\u00a0<\/a>the rapper was pronounced dead at 11:23 a.m. ET on Wednesday.<\/p>\n A cause of death has not been released.\u00a0<\/p>\n Lil Poppa signed with Yo Gotti\u2019s Collective Music Group (CMG) in 2022, following the success of his mixtape series\u00a0Under Investigation. The last installment, \u201cUnder Investigation 3,\u201d was released in 2022.<\/p>\n He released several albums in recent years, including “Almost Normal Again” last August. The project featured singles \u201cBout My Respect\u201d and \u201cMyself Again,\u201d and included collaborations with Yungeen Ace and Mozzy.<\/p>\n Following the album\u2019s release, Poppa embarked on the 20-date “Almost Normal Again Tour.” He also previously joined Rod Wave on the \u201cLast Lap Tour.\u201d He had an upcoming show scheduled for March 21 at The Fillmore in New Orleans.\u00a0<\/p>\n He released his latest single, \u201cOut of Town Bae,\u201d on Feb. 13.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The rapper signed with Yo Gotti\u2019s CMG in 2022 and recently released new music and toured nationally.
