(KWCH) &#8211; A Florida woman was arrested for forgery after authorities said she used stolen identification to cash two forged checks for more than $6,000 in Abilene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Wanda O\u2019Shields of Okeechobee, Fla., was also suspected of passing forged checks the same day in Belleville.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">On Friday, Abilene policed learned that O\u2019Shields has returned to the bank in Abilene and was attempting to cash more checks. When officers arrived, O\u2019Shields fled in her vehicle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A chase began and spanned multiple counties. The woman was eventually stopped by the sheriff\u2019s office in Harvey County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The 39-year-old O\u2019Shields was in custody as of Monday morning at the Sedgwick County Jail. She faces multiple counts of identity theft and forgery accusations in Sedgwick County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">O\u2019Shields could also face charges in Dickinson County. <\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 KWCH.
