According to the FAA, crews reported smoke in the cockpit after the plane exited the runway. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Passengers were evacuated via slides from the Airbus A320. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Arrivals to Newark Liberty International Airport were shortly paused after the incident. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The FAA is currently investigating the incident. <\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 Scripps Media, Inc.
