The bridge will not open at 7:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 4:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, apart from federal holidays. The changes were made to reduce bridge openings during peak weekday travel times to help improve traffic flow along SE 17th Street corridor, while continuing to accommodate marine traffic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to thank the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-triton.com\/2026\/02\/cocaine-smuggling-yachts-busted-off-fort-lauderdale\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">United States Coast Guard<\/a> for working with the City on this update,\u201d said Mayor Dean Trantalis. \u201cThe permanent schedule helps ease congestion during the peak hours and improves quality of life for residents and motorists, while maintaining waterway access critical to our yachting community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>U.S. vessels and tugs with tows may still pass through the bridge at any time upon proper signal.
