Fort Lauderdale is putting out the Spring Break welcome mat next week.<\/p>\n
“We’re a welcoming community – those who are families that live here in America, international travelers, anybody who wants to visit here, snowbirds, retirees, college kids from colder states,” says Mayor Dean Trantalis.<\/p>\n
Trantalis says to make sure safety is maintained, there will be an increased police presence along the beaches and the entertainment district. <\/p>\n
Open containers will not be allowed in the entertainment district, and no booze, coolers, tents or loud music will be permitted on the sand. <\/p>\n
Beaches will be closed at 5:30 nightly so it can be cleaned. <\/p>\n
