PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 A family tragedy unfolded in Port St. Lucie on Wednesday morning, as a father was fatally shot by his own son during a heated argument, prompting a manhunt for the fleeing son and his capture in Broward County.<\/p>\n
According to the Port St. Lucie Police Department, at around 7:47 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting at a home located in the 5900 block of NW Ketona Circle.<\/p>\n
Upon arrival, the officers reported finding 69-year-old Glen Morrison inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
Authorities said that their preliminary investigations suggest that the victim’s son, Sheldon Brian Morrison, 41, shot him and then fled the scene in a gold or beige Cadillac. The suspect was described as Black, standing 5-foot-7, and wearing black pants, black sneakers, and a black sweatshirt.<\/p>\n
Police believe a disagreement occurred between the father and son, then Sheldon Morrison went into the garage, grabbed his gun, and shot his father, to which Glenn’s wife called the police.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s hard to say. You know, I have to presume that he’s dangerous. You just shot and killed his father and fled the scene. Believed to be armed. So I can’t state, his state of mind, right? It’s obviously not normal today,\u201d said Niemczyk.<\/p>\n
