For a president obsessed with self-aggrandizement and self-glorification, Donald Trump has reason to be pleased with recent developments. Indeed, it has been challenging to keep up with the many things the Republican and his allies have applied his name to in recent months.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ve added Trump\u2019s name to the Kennedy Center<\/a> and the Institute of Peace<\/a>, announced the construction of \u201cTrump-class\u201d battleships<\/a>, unveiled a commemorative legal-tender coin that will feature his face on both sides<\/a> and launched \u201cTrump Gold Cards<\/a>,\u201d \u201cTrump Accounts<\/a>\u201d and \u201cTrumpRx<\/a>\u201d (the government\u2019s new drug-pricing website). By some accounts, the president expects the forthcoming White House ballroom<\/a> to bear his name, too.<\/p>\n

But wait, there\u2019s more. Trump wants a football stadium<\/a> in Washington, D.C., to be named after him, the nation\u2019s next-generation fighter jet will have an \u201cF-47\u201d designation<\/a> in honor of him (he is the nation\u2019s 47th president) and training for incoming Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents was reduced from 50 days to 47 days<\/a> for the same reason.<\/p>\n

The Republican also recently said<\/a> it\u2019s \u201cnot too late\u201d to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico (which he has attempted to rename once already) to the \u201cGulf of Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n

And now, Politico reported<\/a> on the latest addition to the growing list:<\/p>\n

Florida lawmakers gave final approval Thursday to legislation that would rename Palm Beach International Airport after President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

The proposal will now arrive on Gov. Ron DeSantis\u2019 desk, as the Legislature works out how much it wants to spend \u2014 possibly upward of $5.5 million \u2014 on a massive rebranding at the airport mere minutes away from Mar-a-Lago.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s worth emphasizing for context that Trump apparently wanted to change<\/a> the name of Dulles International Airport, which is just outside of Washington, to honor himself, and he was even prepared to execute an extortion scheme<\/a> with Democratic officials to get his way.<\/p>\n

Evidently, he\u2019ll have to settle for a much smaller airport.<\/p>\n
