Hollins and St. Petersburg are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Royals will challenge the Green Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Hollins’ last matchup with Pinellas Park could’ve gone either way, but unfortunately the same can’t be said for the pair’s game on Thursday. The Royals lost 14-8 to the Patriots.

Ava Vargas was cooking despite her team’s loss, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, St. Petersburg gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They put the hurt on Lakewood with a sharp 16-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Green Devils in their matchups with the Spartans: they’ve now won nine in a row.

Ryann Vigue was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Nova Rollins was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Hollins got the ‘W’ in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against St. Petersburg by a conclusive 17-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royals since the team won’t have the home-field advantage this time around. We’ll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
