{"id":163830,"date":"2026-02-21T14:22:24","date_gmt":"2026-02-21T14:22:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/163830\/"},"modified":"2026-02-21T14:22:24","modified_gmt":"2026-02-21T14:22:24","slug":"motorcyclist-killed-2-others-seriously-injured-in-rear-end-crash-on-jacksonvilles-northside-fhp-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/163830\/","title":{"rendered":"Motorcyclist killed, 2 others seriously injured in rear-end crash on Jacksonville&#8217;s Northside: FHP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A motorcyclist was killed and two others were seriously injured in a crash on Jacksonville&#8217;s Northside early Saturday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">FHP said that around 12:30 a.m., the motorcyclist, identified as a 32-year-old man from Jonesboro, Ga., was traveling northbound on US-17 at a &#8220;high rate of speed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Two sedans were reportedly stopped at a red light in the northbound lanes of US-17 at the intersection of New Berlin Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to a release from FHP, the motorcyclist &#8220;failed to stop&#8221; and rear-ended one of the sedans, causing that vehicle to rear-end the second sedan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;All three vehicles traveled a short distance and came to final rest blocking the northbound travel lanes of US-17 and the intersection of New Berlin Road,&#8221; the release states.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The drivers of the sedans, a 65-year-old woman and 42-year-old man, both from Jacksonville, were taken to a local hospital, FHP said.
