CLARENDON COUNTY, S.C. \u2014 A teen from Florida has died in a crash along I-95 in Clarendon County on Saturday, officials confirm.<\/p>\n
Corporal Nick Pye with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened in the northbound lanes of I-95 near mile marker 109, which is not far from Summerton, around 8 a.m.<\/p>\n
Pye said a 2019 Ford sedan was heading north when it ran off the road to the right and struck a tree. Both the driver and passenger were taken to an area hospital for treatment. The passenger, identified by coroner Jacqueline Blackwell as a 13-year-old boy, later died.<\/p>\n
Blackwell chose not to identify the deceased due to his age. However, she said he was from St. Petersburg, Florida and that his father was driving at the time.<\/p>\n
