An 83-year-old woman is dead and her husband has been arrested on first-degree murder charges, the Orange County Sheriff\u2019s Office said Sunday.<\/p>\n
At approximately 5:20 p.m. on Saturday, the sheriff\u2019s office said deputies responded to a call at the 8000 block of Romerly Court in a community located southwest of Rio Pinar in east Orange.<\/p>\n
Upon arrival, deputies found the woman, identified as Nancy Lee Simmons, had been shot, OCSO said. She was pronounced dead on-scene.<\/p>\n
Homicide detectives secured a warrant for the woman\u2019s husband, William Elwood Simmons, 80, for first degree murder, OCSO said Sunday. He was taken into custody and transported to the Orange County Jail.<\/p>\n
The sheriff\u2019s office said no additional details were available.<\/p>\n
