PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 A Fort Pierce family is still waiting for answers months after their 6-year-old daughter was killed<\/a> in a go-kart crash at an indoor amusement park.<\/p>\n

CBS12 News has learned Emma Riddle\u2019s parents are preparing to file a lawsuit against Urban Air Adventure Park in Port St. Lucie.<\/p>\n

CBS12 News has uncovered several lawsuits filed against the company all alleging safety concerns and negligence by staff and the adventure park.<\/p>\n

In the five lawsuits CBS12 News found, only one of them reached a settlement after a parent claimed there was no supervision when his child was hurt on Urban Air’s trampoline back in 2023.<\/p>\n

The five lawsuits against Urban Air Adventure Park involve alleged incidents from 2023 and 2024.<\/p>\n

They accuse the indoor amusement park in Port At. Lucie of failing to properly maintain equipment, failing to supervise visitors and failing to adequately train employees, leaving families hurt.<\/p>\n

Heather Allen of Port St. Lucie said she\u2019s taken her niece and nephew to Urban Air many times.<\/p>\n

“It’s run by a lot of really young kids,” she said. “A lot of the employees are teens, and it seems a little chaotic when you go in there.”<\/p>\n

Allen said while her family has never been hurt, she could see how easily it could happen.<\/p>\n

“It was pretty chaotic,” said Allen. “Go-karts would break down. Kids would be sitting; there was not a lot of supervision.”<\/p>\n

Two of the lawsuits point to a lack of supervision.<\/p>\n

One alleges a child was hurt because of overcrowding and understaffing on the ‘wipeout’ attraction.<\/p>\n

The other claims a child was assaulted by another customer arguing urban air didn’t have enough supervision, security or alcohol control to keep it from happening.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s sad. People bring their kids to places like this to have something to do,” Allen said. “It\u2019s kind of sad to know that maybe the safety standards aren\u2019t where they should be.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a separate lawsuit, a family member says he broke his ankle because the ball pit was underfilled.<\/p>\n

Another parent claims her child was injured on a rock-climbing attraction after a worker allegedly failed to properly attach a harness.<\/p>\n

These alleged incidents happened months before Dec. 6, 2025<\/a>, when 6-year-old Emma Riddle died in a go-kart crash<\/a> while riding with her mother.<\/p>\n

According to the family’s lawyer, the go-kart accelerated on its own<\/a> and slammed into a wall at a high speed.<\/p>\n

In a statement to CBS12, the family’s attorney Thomas Hasty of Morgan & Morgan said:<\/p>\n

\u201cOur investigation is still ongoing, but we are fully prepared to file a lawsuit to hold all those responsible accountable for this horrible tragedy.\u201d<\/p>\n

CBS12 News reporter Antoinette DelBel asked Allen if she would feel comfortable returning to the amusement park, she said, \u201cNo. Probably not. Not now, not knowing what happened; not knowing that no one’s making sure the kids are strapped into go-karts. The safety’s just not there.”<\/p>\n

CBS12 News has reached out to Urban Air Adventure Park regarding the lawsuits and questions about equipment and safety procedures.
