(WCTV) &#8211; Leon County <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2026\/02\/12\/leon-county-seeks-reimbursement-taxpayer-funds-used-response-mobile-home-water-outage\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2026\/02\/12\/leon-county-seeks-reimbursement-taxpayer-funds-used-response-mobile-home-water-outage\/\">is demanding more than $30,000<\/a> back after it deployed emergency resources to Florida Sun Estates, a mobile home park just southwest of Tallahassee.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to a copy of the demand letter obtained by WCTV, the mobile home park was \u201cnot operating with a valid permit and had not been operating in compliance with Chapter 513, Florida Statutes, for nearly 4 months.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The letter says that the non-compliance effectively bypassed the Florida Department of Health\u2019s normal inspection cycle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cYou can\u2019t let your residents go days without water, and you have to operate with a valid operating permit,\u201d Leon County Commission Chair Christian Caban said. \u201cAnd it\u2019s our job to hold negligent landlords responsible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-center article-text\">More Tallahassee news:<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">WCTV sought comment from a lawyer representing the park, but we haven\u2019t yet heard back.
