What to Watch For in 2026<\/p>\n
\nHonda hopes to repeat: Honda had their best NTT INDYCAR SERIES season since the return of multi-manufacturer competition in 2012\u2014winning twelve of 17 races and taking the manufacturers\u2019, drivers\u2019 and rookie of the year titles\u2014as well as victory in the Indianapolis 500. The last time Honda managed a sweep of all three titles and the Indy 500 was in 2005.\u00a0
\nCan anyone topple the #10 team: Alex Palou had a standout year in 2025, winning eight races, including the Indianapolis 500, en route to his third consecutive title and fourth in just five years at Chip Ganassi Racing.
\nBig names and fresh faces: Amidst the musical chairs of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES silly season, some new and returning names will now be powered by Honda for the 2026 season. Two-time IndyCar Champion and the 2018 Indy 500 winner Will Power joins Andretti Global to replace the departing Colton Herta. Power will line up alongside 2022 \u2018500\u2019 winner Marcus Ericsson and a three-time race winner last year, Kyle Kirkwood. Mick Schumacher, former F1 driver and son of legend Michael Schumacher, joins Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing for his rookie IndyCar season. And Dale Coyne Racing welcomes back former F1 driver Romain Grosjean to pair alongside reigning Indy NXT champion Dennis Hauger.
\nSteady as she goes: Two of the five Honda-powered teams return with the exact same driver lineup for 2026. Chip Ganassi Racing will be running the familiar trio of Alex Palou, six-time IndyCar champ Scott Dixon and Kyffin Simpson. While their technical alliance partners, Meyer Shank Racing, will be looking to build on a strong 2025 season with the full-season pairing of Felix Rosenqvist and Marcus Armstrong.

Honda at St. Pete <\/p>\n
\nHonda-powered drivers have won 12 of the 21 NTT INDYCAR SERIES races at St. Petersburg since the event was revived for the 2005 season. The late Dan Wheldon led a Honda and Andretti Green Racing sweep of the top four positions in the inaugural 2005 event.
\nAlex Palou kicked off his incredible 2025 championship run with a victory at St. Petersburg last season, finishing just ahead of teammate Scott Dixon in a Honda-powered 1-2.
