CHARLESTON \u2014 Travelers can now buy a ticket to the \u201cVenice of America\u201d from the Lowcountry.<\/p>\n
A seasonal thrice-weekly nonstop route will add a new connection between Charleston International and Fort Lauderdale, Fla.<\/a>, starting July 2 with fares starting at $49 per way through Breeze Airways.<\/p>\n The Sunshine State tourism destination<\/a> is known for its retail and dining scene on Las Olas Boulevard, its gondola rides on the canals, more than 300 miles of navigable waterways and more than 24 miles of beaches. In 2025, greater Fort Lauderdale, also called the \u201cYachting Capital of the World,\u201d welcomed 20.9 million visitors, according to Visit Lauderdale.<\/p>\n Fort Lauderdale is Breeze\u2019s 28th nonstop destination from Charleston International. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport also is served by Spirit Airlines and JetBlue Airways from CHS.<\/p>\n Charleston International CEO Elliott Summey said south Florida \u201cis one of the most in-demand leisure and business destinations\u201d for travelers rom the Charleston region.<\/p>\n Breeze CEO and founder David Neeleman said in a statement that Charleston has been a key growth market for the Utah-based carrier.<\/p>\n \u201cThe addition of Fort Lauderdale gives our guests in Charleston another great travel option with convenient three-times-weekly service,\u201d Neeleman said.<\/p>\n The airline also recently announced a twice-weekly nonstop link between Charleston and Atlantic City<\/a> starting in May, giving Lowcountry travelers a shortcut to the Jersey Shore gambling<\/a> destination. And it just launched service route between CHS and\u00a0Canc\u00fan<\/a>, Mexico.<\/p>\n Charleston isn\u2019t the only city reaping the tailwinds of growth with Breeze Airways. Two other South Carolina airports will be adding new routes through the airline this summer.<\/p>\n This July, Myrtle Beach<\/a> International will connect passengers from the Grand Strand to Pittsburg, Pa., and Portland, Maine.\u00a0Earlier this month<\/a>, the airline added Orlando, Fla., and Manchester, N.H., to its lineup from Myrtle Beach, too.<\/p>\n The Greenville-Spartanburg airport also is gaining routes<\/a> to Cincinnati, Ohio and Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
