TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – An apartment complex in Tallahassee is now telling tenants to pack up and leave over safety concerns. <\/p>\n
Just four days ago, a note was posted at Terra Lake Heights apartments that told residents they had just days to move out due to safety issues with some floors, and problems with the fire alarm and sprinkler systems. <\/p>\n
The Tallahassee Fire Department told WCTV that after inspections, they found safety issues in all four buildings at the apartment complex. TFD said they worked with the property manager for about a week, but after no progress, they moved to the next step. <\/p>\n

On Feb. 20, TFD notified the property manager and emailed the regional property manager. Now, all tenants in all four buildings must be out by March 2 at 9 a.m.. <\/p>\n
Division Chief Jason Greisl called the decision \u201cvery rare,\u201d saying that with three life safety systems affected, this was the appropriate action. But residents say they\u2019re overwhelmed, with nowhere to go and not enough time. <\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t understand why they would let something like this happen.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m going to be in my truck, I guess cause I don\u2019t have nowhere to go and I have no money to move nowhere.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of people it\u2019s going to affect, people have kids, we have kids out here.\u201d <\/p>\n
TFD says they\u2019re hopeful that by March 2, there can be a resolution that ensures residents\u2019 safety. <\/p>\n
The regional property manager was told this could be re-evaluated if the issues are fixed in time. <\/p>\n
WCTV has reached out to the property manager and has not heard back as of Tuesday evening. <\/p>\n
