September will be here before you know it, and if you\u2019re beginning or resuming your studies, you\u2019re going to need money.<\/p>\n

Yes, you can try to shake down your parents, but this is a finite resource.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s where The Miami Foundation comes in.<\/p>\n

The foundation is providing more than $2 million in college, law school and technical school scholarships. All you have to do is check out each scholarship\u2019s qualifications, and apply.<\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t matter what you\u2019re studying: science, the arts, community service, law, or other fields, you\u2019re good.<\/p>\n

Some deadlines are in March, so students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Check out The Miami Foundation\u2019s scholarship information page<\/a> for everything you need and then some, including a free financial aid help desk staffed by experts, a college cost calculator, guidance for planning life after graduation, and access to hundreds of additional external scholarships.<\/p>\n

The foundation is inviting individual donors and businesses to establish or contribute<\/a> to scholarship funds to help local students. Custom and named scholarship opportunities are available.<\/p>\n

\u201cEstablishing a scholarship with The Miami Foundation is one way we keep the spirit of our brother alive,\u201d said Michael Epstein in a press release. Epstein represents the Alan R. Epstein \u2018Reach for the Stars\u2019 Scholarship, created in memory of Alan Epstein, who died in a car accident in 2018 while returning from the University of Florida. \u201cEach year, it\u2019s a joy to select students who embody Alan\u2019s vision, drive, and academic promise. This scholarship is about more than financial support; it\u2019s about students knowing their community sees them, believes in them, and recognizes the obstacles they\u2019ve overcome. We welcome every eligible student to apply.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to the Epstein family, scholarship partners include The Related Group, The Aronovitz Family, The Ortega Foundation, Give Kids A Chance, The City of Miami, The Little Haiti Revitalization Trust, DRRT, The Kozyak Minority Mentoring Foundation, and The College Assistance Program (CAP).\u00a0<\/p>\n

Last year, The Miami Foundation helped 888 students access scholarships totaling $2.29 million.<\/p>\n
