Women in attendance represented a variety of ages, ethnicities and backgrounds, an intentionally diverse audience aimed at building solidarity in a supportive, inspiring environment. Each attendee was asked to connect with 10 women in the community \u2013 family members, friends, coworkers or neighbors \u2013 and encourage them to schedule their breast screenings or seek resources from one of the many nonprofit organizations offering support for women and their families.\n<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1060665\" class=\"size-large wp-image-1060665 lazyload\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Attendees-at-the-2026-Purple-Tea-breast-health-symposium-heard-from-six-distinguished-presenters-102.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\"  data- style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1024px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1024\/768;\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-1060665\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Attendees at the 2026 Purple Tea breast health symposium heard from six distinguished presenters. -COURTESY PHOTO<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you can just touch 10 people, connect them with resources, connect them with someone else that is going through what they\u2019re going through, we can eliminate and beat this together,\u201d said Purple Tea Honorary Chair Karen Watson, a community leader, social worker and breast cancer advocate who co-founded Impact Dunbar, a fund at Collaboratory in Fort Myers supporting programs benefiting women and girls in the Dunbar community.\n<\/p>\n<p>This year, presenters addressed the latest advancements in breast cancer treatment, including proton therapy, surgical innovations, immunotherapy and the growing role of artificial intelligence in cancer care.
