If they\u2019re not getting thrown onstage, bras stay at home for this one. And there better not be a shaved armpit in sight.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Led by singer, guitarist and songwriter Lauren \u201cLG\u201d Gilbert, Thelma and the Sleaze, a self-described \u201cDIY queer lady southern rock band,\u201d has had a rotating cast since 2010 that now includes drummer Chloe Weidl and bassist Mattie Sparks. <\/p>\n

The trio is touring off the 2023 album, Holey Water, with hopes of pulling enough resources together for a new record. <\/p>\n

LG said she started recording said album late last year, and she\u2019ll be self-producing and financing it, too. \u201c \u2026that way we can make sure that I have total creative freedom, and do not have to deal with any stifling interference from the patriarchy\u2026or corporate interest,\u201d she added, while promising that it\u2019ll be \u201ca monster truck slam jam right back to our roots.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tickets start at $15 for Thelma and the Sleaze on Sunday, March 1 in Tampa.<\/a><\/p>\n
