This summer, Sanibel Sea School<\/a> is excited to introduce a brand-new opportunity for individuals passionate about early childhood education and nature-based learning: the preschool camp counselor position for its popular Sea Squirts summer camps<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n Designed for children ages four to six, Sea Squirts camps focus on exploration, curiosity, and starting a lifelong connection to the ocean and environment. Sanibel Sea School is excited to expand its partnership with the\u00a0Children\u2019s Education Center of the Islands<\/a> (CECI) for the first time for summer camp.\n<\/p>\n \u201cWith CECI providing facilities, support staff, and aftercare, and Sanibel Sea School providing the immersive curriculum, lead staff, and schedules it\u2019s known for, this collaboration is a natural fit,\u201d said Sanibel Sea School Director Shannon Rivard. \u201cBoth of our organizations share a deep belief in the power of nature and hands-on learning during early childhood.\u201d\n<\/p>\n To support this growing program, Sanibel Sea School is expanding its team and seeking four enthusiastic, patient, and caring individuals to help guide young campers through their first immersive outdoor learning experiences.\n<\/p>\n As preschool camp counselors, staff members play a vital role in creating a positive, nurturing, and safe camp setting. Counselors lead small groups through age-appropriate activities, support social and emotional development, and help children feel confident, curious and excited to learn.\n<\/p>\n \u201cThe position is ideal for those who enjoy working with young children and believe in the power of early experiences to shape lifelong values,\u201d said Rivard.\n<\/p>\n Preschool Camp Counselors will complete two weeks of training at Sanibel Sea School\u2019s main campus in May, followed by three consecutive weeks of camp at the CECI campus in June.\n<\/p>\n Sea Squirts heading to the beach. -COURTESY PHOTO<\/p>\n \u201cThis is the first time we\u2019ve offered this role, and we\u2019re thrilled to have a position dedicated to working with children under six,\u201d she added. \u201cA strong connection to nature is important to start, even from the youngest ages. If you want to be part of that spark, this is the job for you.\u201d\n<\/p>\n This position offers hands-on experience in outdoor education, mentorship from experienced marine science educators, and the chance to make a meaningful impact during a child\u2019s formative years.\n<\/p>\n Counselors gain valuable skills in leadership, communication, and child development while working in a fun, supportive, and mission-driven environment.
