TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Survivors ready!<\/p>\n
The much-anticipated Season 50 premiere of Survivor is here, and the talk of Tallahassee is a local contestant.<\/a><\/p>\n The Challenger Center is hosting a watch party on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n As if the 50th season isn\u2019t enough reason to celebrate, FAMU-FSU College of Engineering professor Dr. Christian Hubicki is on the show.<\/p>\n WCTV spoke with some College of Engineering students today who say they can\u2019t wait to see what he\u2019ll do out on the island.<\/p>\n More Tallahassee news:<\/p>\n Anderson Almond and Johnny Depostero, both engineering students, say it\u2019s exciting to see someone they know representing their school on a national stage.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s super awesome to see somebody here from Florida State and representing the College of Engineering, especially, it\u2019s pretty awesome,\u201d said Depostero.<\/p>\n \u201cYeah, it\u2019s a guy you see around campus, so it\u2019s pretty cool knowing he can do that,\u201d said Almond.<\/p>\n \u201cBeing able to work with your hands, being able to figure out problems, problem solve, and just using your mind every day at work and then being able to apply it to the island could be a game-changer for him\u2026 hopefully he wins,\u201d said Depostero.<\/p>\n The watch party at the Challenger Center runs from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. We will have more on WCTV at 11 p.m.. <\/p>\n To keep up with the latest news as it develops, follow WCTV on Facebook<\/a>, Instagram<\/a>, YouTube<\/a>, Nextdoor<\/a> <\/a>and X<\/a> (Twitter<\/a>).<\/p>\n Have a news tip or see an error?
