TAMPA, Fla. \u2013 The Tampa Police Department has released its annual report and numbers indicate a drop in crime.<\/p>\n
For 2025, the city saw a 21 percent drop in total crime. That includes a 16 percent drop in violent crime.<\/p>\n

Tampa Police Department has released its 2025 annual report\u00a0 Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw said new technology, as well as improving the quality of service led to the improved numbers.<\/p>\n He also touted new community outreach initiatives, further emphasizing the department\u2019s mission of working in a cooperative partnership.<\/p>\n “The strength of our police department is grounded in our partnership with the community we serve. When officers and residents work together, Tampa becomes safer, stronger, and more united,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “Through collaboration, we meet challenges with resilience and build lasting legacies through trust, service, and shared success.”<\/p>\n In 2025, the department saw a significant decrease in homicides at 52.8%, surpassing the national average by nearly three times.<\/p>\n The 21.3% drop in total crime also includes a 20% drop in robbery and a 14% drop in aggravated assault. <\/p>\n In addition to these numbers, the everyday efforts of officers are highlighted in the \u201cFrom the Front Lines\u201d section, where crime reduction efforts through proactive investigations, quality of life initiatives, and more.<\/p>\n Our 2025 Annual Report is here!<\/p>\n Last year marked significant reductions in crime that exceeded national averages, and none of it would have been possible without the strength of our partnership with you, our community!
