JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. \u2013 The Sea and Sky Air Show will return to Jacksonville Beach this weekend, but one of the biggest draws to the event may be grounded.<\/p>\n

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels have already canceled two airshows, and Jacksonville may be next.<\/p>\n

While there has been no official confirmation, signs are pointing in that direction.<\/p>\n

It all stems from a national level. <\/p>\n

The Senate did not advance the GOP bill on Wednesday, and we\u2019re now on day 23 of the federal government shutdown \u2014 potentially affecting one of the city\u2019s largest annual events.<\/p>\n

News4JAX reached out to the city about the Sea and Sky Air Show and received this response that says in part:<\/p>\n

\u201c…In the event that something changes with any of the planned military performers, we have an elite lineup of civilian acts scheduled to perform.\u201d<\/p>\n

The show is still happening. But the big question is: Will the Blue Angels be there?<\/p>\n

Typically, the Blue Angels would be practicing by now, and people can typically hear the roar of the jets in the skies.<\/p>\n

But that hasn\u2019t happened yet.<\/p>\n

If the Blue Angels don\u2019t show up, the immediate impact could be felt in tourism. Last year, this event had nearly 300,000 spectators, and it always draws a huge crowd to the beaches. The influx of visitors generates major tax revenue for the city.<\/p>\n

The show also creates job opportunities, boosting hospitality, retail, and service jobs.<\/p>\n

Thursday will be a key day to find out what exactly will happen.<\/p>\n
