GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – There is a horse not far off the beaten path in Gadsden County, whose talent has taken him to famous arenas from as far away as Kentucky and Texas. <\/p>\n

Rovy used to saddle up to show off his skills, but now, it\u2019s his prowess with a paintbrush that\u2019s turning heads and drawing crowds. <\/p>\n

Rovy is a 24-year-old Lipizzan Andalusian thoroughbred cross. Over the years, Sandra Beauliau and Rovy have competed in dressage and performed in some of the horse world\u2019s most famous arenas.<\/p>\n

\u201cI get a little emotional because we\u2019ve done a lot together,\u201d Beauliau said. <\/p>\n

Now, Rovy is right at home at the easel, working for applause and treats. Beauliau dips the brushes in the color of her choice, and Rovy does the rest. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe loves to paint because he likes to perform in general. So he\u2019s always been good at performing,\u201d Beauliau said. \u201cYou can see I make the brushes with rope and then tape them on. I have to change them often because they get dirty, but that gives him something squishy to hold on to.\u201d <\/p>\n

The powerful bond between horse and rider, artist and performer, is evident in all they do \u2014 whether it\u2019s the equivalent of horse ballet or a big toothy smile with a dab of pink paint. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s the superstar for the painting. That\u2019s his thing. And he knows it\u2019s his thing,\u201d Beauliau said. <\/p>\n

Beauliau and Rovy will be performing in Monticello this weekend at the \u201cHave Heart for Horses Gala,\u201d where one of Rovy\u2019s paintings will be auctioned off to help raise money for Triple R Horse Rescue.<\/p>\n

The rescue is hosting the 11th annual gala this Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Homestead Barn in Monticello to raise money for Triple R – a network of horse lovers across north Florida and South Georgia that takes in abandoned, abused and neglected horses. <\/p>\n
