{"id":171200,"date":"2026-02-27T07:33:15","date_gmt":"2026-02-27T07:33:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/171200\/"},"modified":"2026-02-27T07:33:15","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T07:33:15","slug":"backstreet-boys-brian-littrell-sues-florida-retiree-for-trespassing-in-front-of-mansion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/171200\/","title":{"rendered":"Backstreet Boys&#8217; Brian Littrell sues Florida retiree for trespassing in front of mansion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Backstreet\u2019s back, alright!<\/p>\n<p>Backstreet Boys singer Brian Littrell has <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/02\/19\/us-news\/backstreet-boy-brian-littrell-dealt-major-blow-in-florida-beach-trespass-suit\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">refiled his lawsuit against a retiree<\/a>, claiming she illegally repeatedly rocked her body on his property by using the beach in front of his $3.8 million mansion\u00a0in the Florida panhandle.<\/p>\n<p>Littrell\u2019s suit against Carolyn Barrington Hill, 67, was thrown out by\u00a0Judge Jonathan Schlechter\u00a0last week who ruled the \u201cEverybody\u201d crooner couldn\u2019t sue her for emotional damages tied to his trespassing claims.<\/p>\n<p>Backstreet Boys singer Brian Littrell has refiled his lawsuit against Carolyn Barrington Hill. Nathan Congleton\/NBC via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Since the ruling was based on a technicality, Schlechter gave Littrell 20 days to bring a new version of his suit.<\/p>\n<p>So the 90s boy band member refiled\u00a0his complaint,\u00a0bringing seven\u00a0new\u00a0trespassing counts against Hill \u2013 who described herself in court papers as semi-retired and on Medicare \u2013 for allegedly coming onto the dry sand in the back of his Santa Rosa home a slew of times from April through September of last year.<\/p>\n<p>Littrell\u2019s Walton County civil case is seeking unspecified damages.<\/p>\n<p>Littrell initially sued Hill in September alongside his wife Leighanne and their company BLB Beach Hut, LLC \u2013 the company he used to buy their 1,574-square-foot, three-bedroom, four-bathroom home in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>He has claimed that under Florida laws the public can only use the beach up to the high tide line behind private homes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He claimed that Hill refused to leave the property \u2013 which he marked with private property signs and beach furniture \u2013 and even filmed him and his family without their consent.<\/p>\n<p>The singer is bringing seven trespassing counts against Hill, 67. WMBB<\/p>\n<p>Littrell alleged her and other locals ignored his pleas for them to vacate his land, as they sought to change the Sunshine State\u2019s laws to make all beaches public.<\/p>\n<p>Littrell was even forced to hire a private security guard to help him enforce his alleged property rights, his suit claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Hill\u2019s lawyer, Heidi Mehaffey, has previously claimed in court that Littrell couldn\u2019t prove that Hill had crossed over the high tide line and that his allegations against her were \u201cvague.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A judge threw out Littrell\u2019s origianl suit last week, ruling he couldn\u2019t sue Hill for emotional damages tied to his trespassing claims. Google Maps<\/p>\n<p>Mehaffey told The Post Thursday that she believes the new lawsuit will also get tossed out by the judge.<\/p>\n<p>She claimed the case is meant to keep people off the beaches by making them fear getting sued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMs. Hill remains steadfast in her position that every person, regardless of social or financial status, has the constitutional right to access and enjoy Florida\u2019s beaches without fear of intimidation through litigation,\u201d\u00a0Mehaffey told The Post Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Florida Constitution protects Ms. Hill\u2019s right to use the shoreline in Walton County, where she has recreated for decades and has never been cited for trespassing,\u201d Mehaffey said. \u201cNo member of the public should be forced to risk costly litigation simply to enjoy Florida\u2019s beaches as the Constitution guarantees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Backstreet\u2019s back, alright!
