YEAH, I THINK THAT SATURDAY MORNING DEFINITELY THE DAY TO STAY INSIDE. BINGE WATCH THAT NETFLIX SERIES WITH KARE SUNDAY. GET OUTSIDE, GET ACTIVE. WE’LL SEE THAT SUNSHINE RETURNING OUT THE DOOR RIGHT NOW. CLOUDS ARE BUILDING HERE IN MARION COUNTY, AS THE CHANCE FOR RAIN IS GOING TO BE ELEVATING THIS AFTERNOON. TEMPERATURES ARE ALREADY WARM. WE’RE IN THE UPPER 70S COURTESY OF THAT SOUTHWESTERLY BREEZE, PROPELLING TEMPERATURES WELL ABOVE THEIR SEASONAL AVERAGE. BUT THOSE SHOWERS AND STORMS WILL BE ARRIVING LATER ON YOUR COMMUTE HOME. NOW IT’S THE RETURN OF THE 80S TO START OFF THE UPCOMING WORKWEEK. AS WE BOUNCE BACK TO THE WARM WEATHER HERE IN CENTRAL FLORIDA. HERE’S HOW THE NUMBERS STACK UP ON YOUR CERTIFIED MOST ACCURATE SEVEN DAY FORECAST. FRIDAY. TODAY, HIGH OF 82 RIGHT HERE IN ORLANDO. BUT WE DO HAVE A 70% COVERAGE OF SHOWERS AND STORMS. THAT’S LATE IN THE AFTERNOON AND ACROSS YOUR EVENING. IN FACT, SOME OF THOSE SHOWERS WILL BLEED ALONG THE COAST SATURDAY MORNING. THEN ON SUNDAY, MORE SUNSHINE IS BACK. MONDAY LOOKS PRISTINE. HIGH OF 80 DEGREES THERE AND WILL TEETER TOTTER BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN THE LOWER 80S AND THE UPPER 70S FOR MONDAY ALL THE WAY THROUGH THURSDAY. BUT HERE’S WHAT WE’RE CHECKING OUT RIGHT NOW. SLIDING INTO THE I-75 QUARTER. COMING OFF THE GULF COAST, WE SEE THOSE SHOWERS PRECEDING A COLD FRONT. AND HERE’S WHERE THE BULK OF THE PRECIPITATION IS YOU SEE FROM OCALA. EXCUSE ME, FROM PENSACOLA THROUGH PANAMA CITY, TALLAHASSEE. YOU GUYS HAVE THESE TRAINING BANDS OF RAIN. WE ALSO COULD SEE ARE LIGHTNING SHOWERS AND STORMS. NOW, WITH THE LIGHTNING ARRIVING, WE HAVE TO CHECK THE FIRE WEATHER CHECKLIST. NOW. WE ALREADY HAVE AN ESTABLISHED DROUGHT, DRY VEGETATION FROM THE RECENT FREEZES THAT WE’VE SEEN. AND WITH THE DRY VEGETATION IN PLACE, ANY LIGHTNING STRIKES COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE FOR A WIDESPREAD FIRE. SO WHAT WE’RE WATCHING OUT FOR IS THE FIRE INDEX, WHICH DOES REMAIN A MODERATE DANGER TODAY WITH THESE GUSTY WINDS FROM THE SOUTH AND THE WEST IN PLACE THIS AFTERNOON. SO WE’RE HOPING THAT LIGHTNING STRIKES DO SPARK ANYTHING ACROSS THE DRY VEGETATION AS THIS COLD FRONT SAGS TO THE SOUTH. THEREFORE TOMORROW STILL A FEW COASTAL SHOWERS, BUT WE’RE CLOUDY TO START OFF THE DAY. WHAT WE’RE EXPECTING TODAY THOUGH, THOSE STRONG GUSTS BETWEEN 15 AND 25MPH PRECEDING THE RAIN MOVING IN FROM THE NORTH AND THE WEST. FIRST FEW SHOWERS ACROSS MARION COUNTY AT 4:00, AND WE SEE THESE PUSHING TOWARDS THE SOUTH SLOWLY. THE SLOWER THEY MOVE, THE MORE CHANCES WE’LL HAVE FOR THE RAIN SHOWERS TO PILE UP. WE’LL SEE BY 9:00. STILL MOVING ACROSS LAKE COUNTY INTO THE METRO OVERNIGHT, THEN PUSHING OUT TOWARDS THE EAST. A FEW COASTAL SHOWERS WILL BE PRESENT EARLY TO START OFF THE DAY ON SATURDAY, BUT ULTIMATELY THE MOST OF THE MOST OF YOUR AFTERNOON WILL BE SPENT UNDERNEATH THE CLOUDS. AS FAR AS RAINFALL ACCUMULATION GOES, WE COULD SEE POCKETS OF RAIN BETWEEN AN INCH TO 2.5IN ACROSS SOME OF OUR WESTERNMOST COMMUNITIES. SUNDAY, THOUGH, JUST CLOUDY SKIES AS TEMPERATURES DROP BACK INTO THE MID 70S. THEN, TO START OFF THE WORKWEEK, WE’LL SEE THOSE SMALL CHANCES FOR SHOWERS MOVING IN OFF THAT EAST COAST SEA BREEZE. ULTIMATELY THOUGH, IT WILL BE A WARM START TO THE MONTH OF MARCH AS WE’LL BOUNCE BACK TO THE 80S. BUT COOLER THIS WEEKEND FOLLOWING THE RAIN MID 70S.
