ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 An 88-year-old woman died following a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Road 7 and Pioneer Road.<\/p>\n

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office <\/a>said the crash happened on Feb. 18 at 12:24 p.m. when a 2020 Chevrolet Malibu traveling north on SR-7 failed to stop for a red light. The driver entered the intersection against the signal as crosstraffic received a green light.<\/p>\n

A 2024 Toyota Tundra and a 2026 Cadillac Lyriq were both stopped at the intersection on Pioneer Road\u2014one in the eastbound lane and the other in the westbound lane\u2014when the Malibu drove into the crossing, according to the crash report. Investigators said the Malibu struck the right front corner of the Toyota first, causing both vehicles to collide a second time as they were pushed together.<\/p>\n

February 27, 2026 \u2014 Authorities say a Chevy Malibu ran a red light at SR\u20117 and Pioneer Road in Royal Palm Beach, causing a three\u2011vehicle crash that fatally injured her passenger, 88\u2011year\u2011old Iris D. Levin, who died from her injuries the following day. (WPEC) <\/p>\n

The impact redirected the Malibu east, where it struck the Cadillac. The Malibu came to rest against the Cadillac, while the Toyota stopped on the northeast corner of the intersection.<\/p>\n

The driver of the Malibu and her passenger, 88-year-old Royal Palm Beach<\/a> resident Iris D. Levin, were transported to Wellington Regional Medical Center<\/a> with minor injuries initially reported. On Feb. 26, investigators were notified that Levin had died from injuries she suffered in the crash. Records show she passed away at 1 a.m. on Feb. 19.<\/p>\n

The drivers of the Toyota and the Cadillac were not injured, according to PBSO. <\/p>\n

Deputies said alcohol or drug impairment has not been reported for any of the drivers. Next of kin have been notified.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla.
