A brush fire in Cape Coral <\/a>has closed roads near Kismet Parkway and Andalusia Boulevard on Saturday, Feb. 28.<\/p>\n

The roadway is closed from Del Prado Boulevard to Coral Lakes subdivision, with Cape Coral Police saying it likely will remain closed for hours. They made a social media announcement about 1 p.m.<\/p>\n

They ask that motorists avoid the area.<\/p>\n

According to the U.S. Drought Monitor map,<\/a> Cape Coral remains in an severe drought.<\/p>\n

As of 2 p.m., the fire covered 14 acres<\/a> and was 40% contained, according to fire officials.<\/p>\n

According to The Weather Channel, Cape Coral has a 15% chance of rain Saturday and a 17% chance on Sunday.<\/p>\n
