{"id":173720,"date":"2026-03-01T10:11:22","date_gmt":"2026-03-01T10:11:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/173720\/"},"modified":"2026-03-01T10:11:22","modified_gmt":"2026-03-01T10:11:22","slug":"florida-golf-course-renovation-plans-unveiled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/173720\/","title":{"rendered":"Florida golf course renovation plans unveiled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Feb. 28, 2026, 11:00 a.m. ET<\/p>\n<p>The Jacksonville Golf and Country Club announced a $30 million renovation project for its facilities.Augusta National Golf Club has donated $1.5 million to the U.S. Junior Golf National Development Program.The North Florida Junior Foundation has scheduled nine events for its summer tour across multiple counties.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/golfweek.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/golf\/2025\/05\/02\/jacksonville-golf-country-club-andy-staples-omni-oak-marsh\/83296913007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jacksonville Golf and Country Club announced plans<\/a> last year for a $30 million project to renovate its facilities, from the golf course to the pool and fitness center.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The club released more renderings of its plans, &#8220;Blueprint for Tomorrow&#8221; on Feb. 26, and set a target date for Phase One construction to begin in September for the pool, casual bar and grill,\u00a0dining\u00a0and wellness center.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The golf course renovation, supervised by architect <a href=\"https:\/\/www.staplesgolfdesign.com\/\" data-t-l=\":b|z|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Andy Staples<\/a> of Scottsdale, Ariz., is Phase Two and will begin in the Fall of 2027. It includes\u00a0rebuilding\u00a0the tees, fairways, greens and bunkers, installing new drainage and irrigation systems.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"gnt_em_img_i\" style=\"height:372px\" fetchpriority=\"high\" data-g-r=\"lazy\" data-gl-src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/83386757007-jax-g.webp\" data-gl- decoding=\"async\" alt=\"A rendering of the Jacksonville Golf and Country's planned renovation by architect Andy Staples shows the finishing hole.\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Some aspects of the course, originally designed and built in 1989 by Clyde Johnston, with Fuzzy Zoeller as a player-consultant, will change dramatically.
