Denise Hicks, a data researcher for the South Florida Business Journal,<\/a> compiled a list of more than 50 of the highest-paid CEOs of publicly held companies across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties, detailing their total compensation, including base salary, stock awards, and other earnings, all as reported in recent filings with the\u00a0U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While the newspaper\u2019s subscribers can view the full list (and nonsubscribers can download it for $53), we\u2019ll focus on the top five here \u2014 the portion of Hicks\u2019 work that\u2019s publicly visible without a subscription.<\/p>\n
