{"id":174380,"date":"2026-03-01T23:47:05","date_gmt":"2026-03-01T23:47:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/174380\/"},"modified":"2026-03-01T23:47:05","modified_gmt":"2026-03-01T23:47:05","slug":"soho-saloon-closes-after-14-years-on-south-howard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/174380\/","title":{"rendered":"SoHo Saloon closes after 14 Years on South Howard"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After 14 years on <a href=\"https:\/\/tbbwmag.com\/2026\/01\/28\/tampa-south-howard-flood-relief-project\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">South Howard Avenue<\/a>, SoHo Saloon has shut down effective immediately, as owner Disser Hospitality Investments prepares to reposition the property with a new concept.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Disser, who operates multiple venues in SoHo, announced the closure this week and framed it as a strategic reset tied to the district\u2019s continued evolution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow, the time has come for something new,\u201d Disser said in a statement, thanking the Tampa community for \u201c14 amazing years of memories.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>SoHo Saloon opened in 2012 at 410 S Howard Ave., during a period of heavy nightlife investment in Tampa\u2019s urban core. <\/p>\n<p>Over the next decade, the venue operated through shifting consumer trends, pandemic shutdowns and rising rents, holding space in one of the region\u2019s most competitive hospitality markets.<\/p>\n<p>Reinvestment along South Howard<\/p>\n<p>The shutdown clears the way for a new hospitality concept that Disser said will build on the momentum of his nearby holdings, including Sunset Rodeo, which opened in August, and Howard &amp; Platt, slated to open in May 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs South Howard continues to evolve, we\u2019re excited to bring Tampa another fresh, elevated hospitality concept,\u201d the statement read. \u201cOur goal has always been to create experiences that raise the bar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The company has not disclosed details about the replacement venue, projected investment or reopening timeline.<\/p>\n<p>The closure comes as South Howard continues to see frequent concept turnover and reinvestment among operators.<\/p>\n<p>By clustering venues within walking distance, hospitality groups can share staffing and marketing resources across locations.<\/p>\n<p>READ: <a href=\"https:\/\/tbbwmag.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">TAMPA BAY BUSINESS NEWS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the same announcement, Disser signaled additional updates tied to the former Deck Pizza and Side Piece space, another property connected to the company\u2019s SoHo holdings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis rebrand represents a new chapter that is focused on delivering an even better atmosphere, stronger concept and unforgettable nights in SoHo,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>SoHo Saloon\u2019s closure removes one of the longer-running operators in a district known for regular turnover.
