A police officer in Florida was arrested by his own department after he allegedly stole more than $14,000 in fraudulent overtime pay while he was actually engaging in a tryst with his boss.<\/p>\n
Christian Madsen, a 31-year-old cop with the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office, was busted on Feb. 25 \u2014 nearly two weeks after his coworkers received a tip that he had submitted more than 200 erroneous overtime hours.<\/p>\n

While the office was probing the alleged fraud, it learned that Madsen spent a chunk of the supposed overtime hours at the home of JSO Chief of Patrol Support Jaime Eason \u2014 one of his higher-ups.<\/p>\n
After the three-week internal investigation, the department concluded that Madsen \u201cintentionally submitted falsified overtime claims\u201d for various purported traffic assignments, raking in over $14,000 in extra pay between December 2025 and February 2026, according to a press release shared on Facebook<\/a>.<\/p>\n Jacksonville Sheriff TK Waters confirmed that Madsen and Eason were engaged in a romantic relationship, but he said it was \u201cunclear\u201d how long they\u2019d been together.<\/p>\n Waters announced at a press conference that Eason, whom he promoted to Chief of Patrol Support in 2022, \u201cmade the decision to resign\u201d after a \u201clong conversation in my office.\u201d<\/p>\n The sheriff said that, to the best of their knowledge, Eason wasn\u2019t aware of Madsen\u2019s alleged scheme. He noted she wasn\u2019t in charge of approving his timesheet.<\/p>\n Madsen allegedly spent part of his falsified overtime hours at his boss and girlfriend Jaime Eason\u2019s home. Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office<\/p>\n Waters insisted that the onus fell on Madsen, who threw away an 11-year career with the sheriff\u2019s office.<\/p>\n \u201cOur collective belief in openness, transparency, and accountability outweighs any personal allegiance to JSO employees, especially any that violate the public\u2019s trust,\u201d Waters said.<\/p>\n Madsen was suspended after his arrest, but Waters said the office is still seeking termination.<\/p>\n Jacksonville Sheriff TK Waters confirmed that Eason and Madsen were in a romantic relationship. Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office<\/p>\n He was charged with grand theft, organized fraud and official misconduct. <\/p>\n Madsen is the second JSO officer to land behind bars since the New Year.<\/p>\n Officer Nicholas Hicks, who resigned in disgrace, was allegedly paid over $2,600 for time he actually didn\u2019t work between June and December 2025. He was arrested on Jan. 6 and charged with grand theft and official misconduct.<\/p>\n In July, another one of their coworkers was nearly axed<\/a> after he was caught on video sucker-punching a man<\/a> during a traffic stop.
