ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. \u2013 A shooting scare at University High School on Monday afternoon caused the entire campus to be placed on lockdown, according to the Orange County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
In a release, the district announced that the school was placed on a brief lockdown after receiving reports of \u201ca threat to the campus.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cLaw enforcement immediately responded, determined there was no threat to campus, and gave the all clear,\u201d the release reads. \u201cStudents have since been dismissed for the day.\u201d<\/p>\n
Deputies told News 6 that there had been a call about a shooting at University High School, which prompted a large response from law enforcement.<\/p>\n

But after a search of the campus, investigators have determined the entire incident was a \u201cprank.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOut of an abundance of caution, a nearby elementary school and Orange Technical College East Campus were also placed on a brief hold,\u201d deputies wrote shortly before 3:30 p.m. \u201cAll schools are now in the process of dismissing their students. Our deputies are still on scene, and there is no threat to students or the community.\u201d<\/p>\n
