As of Monday morning, March 2, there is now gray paint on the tallest tower of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom. As we saw on Friday, crew members in boom lifts are working on the castle<\/a> during early hours of the park\u2019s opening.<\/p>\n

There were several crew members working in lifts on Monday morning. The castle moat was drained to accommodate the construction vehicles. A pair of crew members in the highest lift were working on the tallest tower.<\/p>\n

Much of the tower\u2019s gold trim has now been painted light gray. Painting has not begun on the balcony Tinker Bell flies from during the Happily Ever After fireworks<\/a> each evening. Though Tink flies late at night and painting is taking place in the mornings, crews may wait to work on the balcony to ensure no equipment is in her way.<\/p>\n

Another crew member in a second lift was working on the trim further down the tower. Though the spire at the very top of the tower has always been gold, the rest of the trim was painted gold as part of the castle\u2019s 50th anniversary makeover.<\/p>\n

Another crew member was working on one of the shorter towers at the front of the castle, painting its gold trim. The lift later moved and the crew member continued painting trim on the wall between two towers.<\/p>\n

The trim on the towers in front of the main castle has also been repainted. <\/p>\n

Most of the west side of the castle is now gray but there are still a few pink walls. The pink, like the gold, was added during the 50th anniversary. The castle\u2019s original gray and blue color scheme is being restored.<\/p>\n

The current royal blue roofing is expected to be replaced by a lighter blue closer to the original color.<\/p>\n

As we previously reported, the back of the castle is mostly gray<\/a> now. Only the pink on the tallest tower is still visible. We don\u2019t know if any of the remaining gold will also be painted over.<\/p>\n

Though painting began on the east side of the castle, there\u2019s still plenty of pink and gold to be seen on this side. The northern half is all gray while the southern half (the front) is still mostly pink.<\/p>\n
